Peters grabs his 2nd win of the year at Attica
|
Zeb and Buddy Peters |
May 31, 2008
When asked if he had seen the headline about his win at Fremont, Buddy Peters sheepishly grinned and
admitted "My mom printed it out and put it on the refrigerator". Make some room, Mom, because Buddy has done it again,
and this time little brother has gotten involved too.
On a night that saw weather threatening the Outlaws once again, Buddy Peters proved that his win at
Fremont was no fluke. Buddy took the $25 Mopar Fast Time award with a lap of 14.10 seconds. Rick Shields was 2nd
quick with a 14.12, and 3rd quick was Buddy's brother Zeb Peters, who showed that speed runs in the family blood by running
a 14.19.
With rain starting to fall from the night sky, the green flag was thrown with only the top 3 answering
the call for the 25 lap A main. The short field was not short on action, however, as the 3 drivers dueled wheel to wheel
for the first 15 laps. One of the wildest moments came on lap 4 as Zeb Peters hopped Rick Shields left rear
and did a complete flip. The car landed on all 4 tres and never lost stride, allowing the barn-burner of a race to continue.
On lap 15 Zeb Peters and Rick Shields got together again, but Peters wasnt quite so lucky. This
time he took a hard hit and fell 6 second back of Shields who now set his sights on Buddy Peters. Quickly closing the
gap, Shields worked the low side, while Peters was running the middle, making his car as wide as possible. As the
2 racers entered into turns 1 and 2 on lap 20, the two tangled and Shields nearly spun. This allowed Peters to get away
by a full second. By lap 23 Shields has closed the gap to a half second, but that was as close as he'd get as Buddy
Peters took home his 2nd checkered flag of 2008 and winning the Jac Haudenschild t-shirt, courtesy of Patty Haudenschild.
Rick Shields finished 2nd, 4 tenths back of Buddy, and Zeb Peters coming home 3rd, 3 seconds off the lead.

Buddy Peters steals the show at Fremont.
|
Mike Krueger, Fast Time Award Winner at Fremont Speedway May 24th. |
May 24, 2008
Sandusky, Ohio's Buddy Peters wasn't even supposed to be in the show Saturday night at Fremont.
He got bumped out of the field, as his 14.16 was just outside the top 6, and was hanging around to watch the A Main.
Right place, right time. When the final call was made for the top 6 qualifiers for the 25 lap "A" Main, Peters got in
as the 1st alternate. 25 laps later he took home the checkered flag. "Man, that was nerve-racking as hell running
up front like that!" Peter exasperated after the feature. "I got punted a little bit there by the 18, but we were both
able to keep going. I really like racing with people head to head like that."
Peters got a little more help on the first lap of the feature when the top 2 qualifiers, Mike Kruger(13.98),
of Lima, OH(formerly Wisconsin), and Josh Lozano(14.01), of Fremont, OH, tangled on lap 1. both cars were able to continue
on, however Kruger never caught back up, finishing 5th. Lozano, on the other hand, slowly made his way back to the front, taking
3rd at lap 10. Lozano also had his 5 year old son who's also #1 fan at his side cheering him on the whole race
At the halfway point, the field was strung out a little with Peters being chased by Rick St. John(14.09),
of Clyde, OH. St. John caught Peters at lap 15 and started pounding on his back bumper, letting Peters know he was there.
For the next 5 laps, St. John and Peters waged a wheel to wheel battle that was allowing Lozano to creep up from behind.
On Lap 20, St. John hooked Peters left rear wheel and his car went high up the track before he saved it. This allowed
Lozano to move into 2nd.
As the field came down to take the white flag, Lozano found himself on Peters back bumper, and 6th
quick qualifier Zac Potridge(14.14), of Fremont, OH caught St. John. Peters made his car as wide as a tank as the field
came out of Turn 4 to take the checkered flag, with Lozano 2nd, St. John just holding on to 3rd, and Potridge, Kruger, and
5th quick qualifier Brandon Diebert(14.10), of Oak Harbor, OH, rounding out the field.
Thanks to all of the fans who stopped by and made this event a success for Tim's Dirt Track Simulators.
Also thank you to Guy Webb, Bryan Autullo, and of course Butch, of the All Star Circuit of Champions for shirts for the top
3 finishers. A very big thank you to Andy James and Rich Farmer for allowing us to set up at Fremont Speedway.
------------------POST RACE QUOTES--------------------
Josh Lozano - "I had fun. I got to race with a bunch of guys who know how to race. That makes
it lots of fun."
Rick St. John - "I was running good in 2nd, got pinched off by him(Peters) and hit the inside wall.
I shoulda stayed in 2nd. Good time, though."
Mike Krueger - "Suuuuuure."

Top 6 Qualifiers(L to R)Diebert, Krueger, St. John, Potridge, Lozano, Peters |
Slygh sweeps Tim Sims' inaugural visit to Waynesfield.
May 24, 2008
Justin "Jake" Slygh of Lima, Ohio set quick time and took the 25 lap A main Saturday night at Waynesfield
Motorsports Park. Jake set a blistering quick time of 13.99 in qualifying and when the A main rolled around, he took
off and hid from the rest of the field, leading all 25 laps.
Trey Bowman of Elida, OH took home 2nd after a late-race pass of Brad Lutz, of Greenville, OH.
Both Bowman and Lutz made the "A" Main by virtue of their identical qualifying laps of 14.05.
Finishing 4th in the A Main was Austin Leicher of Indian Lake, Ohio. Austin made the show by
qualifying 2nd quick with a lap of 14.03.
A big thank you to Greg and Tami Shobe for allowing us to set up at WMSP. Thanks also to Cub
Burden. Last and not least a big thank you to all the fans at Waynesfield for making us feel right at home on our first
visit. We'll see all of you again soon.
Kaser smokes the competition at Limaland
May 24, 2008
Jeremy Kaser of Allentown, Ohio swept Friday nights simulator show at Limaland Motorsports Park, setting
quick time to claim the first Beer Barrel Pole Award and winning the "A" Main, but it didn't come easy. Kaser,
as well as Tim's Sims veterans John "Jack Frost" Foust and Justin "Jake" Slygh, both of Lima, OH. put on a slugfest in Friday
night's 25 lap A Main. Brennan Sherman of Churubusco, Indiana, son of Limaland modified star, Todd Sherman, also showed
that he can get up on the wheel when necessary.
The 1st 2 laps of the 25 lap "A" Main found quick qualifier Kaser(13.89), 2nd quick Foust(14.01) and
4th quick Slygh(14.07) duking it out for the lead. Things got a little too close for comfort as Kaser and Foust got
together, allowing Slygh to slip by to the lead. The contact cause Foust to lose touch with the leader, while Kaser
was able to continue in 2nd place.
The next 16 laps saw Kaser reeling in Slygh a little at a time, waiting for the right moment to make
his move. Lap 19 was that moment, as Kaser got under Slygh and took the lead. Slygh fought back and hopped
Kaser's right rear, causing him to drop back to 4th.
Kaser and Slygh's battle allowed Foust and Sherman to close the gap, but were unable to catch the
leader. Sherman took 2nd at the stripe in a photo finish, with Foust 3rd, Slygh 4th, Gabe Schwaiger of Lima, OH was
5th, and rounding out the field in 6th was Tyler Wolf of Harrod, OH.
Tim's Dirt Track Simulators would like to thank Jeff Jarvis, Bob Fricke, and all of the staff
at Limaland Motorsports Park for allowing us to set up at one of the nicest facilities in the country. Most importantly,
we would like to thank the fans at Limaland for making us feel right at home as always.
The next stop for Tim's Dirt Track Simulators is Attica Raceway Park this Friday, May 30 for the Kistler
Engines Classic featuring the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Following that, we're off to Tony
Stewart's Eldora Speedway for Saturday nights WoO visit and staying all the way through "Dream Week", including the Old Spice
Prelude to the Dream.
Have a great week, and we'll see you at the races!!!!!

Rain Washes Out The Outlaws, But Lovins High And Dry At
Tim's Sims.
|
Quick time and "A" Main winner, Kenny Lovins of Blytheville, Arkansas |
May 11, 2008
With the early decision to pull the plug on the Friday racing program at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon
Beach, Illinois, Tim and the crew rolled into Paducah a day early, giving the fans a sneak peek at the action they could expect
on Saturday night, with the arrival of the the World of Outlaws.
Night 1 saw several racers trying out the simulators for the first time, and getting the feel of the
track. David Clymer of Paducah, Kentucky set the standard with a lap time of 14.05, which stood through night 1 of of
the Paducah double.
With the threat of weather looming on Saturday, qualifying stayed tame early. That all changed
when Kenny Lovins of Blytheville, Arkansas rolled onto the speedway. Lovins, the 2 time Tunica Nationals champ, and
the 2007 Tulsa Shootout champ in the Animal Heavy class, showed his driving prowess in a sprint car, as he took the point
in qualifying with a 14.03. That started a trend, with several racers showing up and shuffling the field. Things
were starting to get interesting when David Clymer tied Lovins' 14.03 and was looking for more speed. His quest was
cut short as Mother Nature forced the officials to pull the plug on the racing program.
The rains may have put a damper on the Outlaws, but not on Tim's Sims, as the fans gathered round
to see the top six qualifiers battle it out in a 25 lap "A" main. Along with Lovins and Clymer, the top 6 included kart
racers Devin Fraser of Paducah, Kentucky, Justin Permenter of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Arron Rucker of Draffenville, Kentucky,
and NMMA mini-sprint racer Jerad Hamm of Bloomington, Indiana. Fraser and Hamm made the field as alternates, but quickly
proved they were just as worthy of the other qualifiers.
The 25 lap "A" main was a fast and furious affair with lots of great side by side racing and daring
passes throughout the 6 car field. When the dust had settled, Kenny Lovins took the checkered flag first, claiming another
big win in his racing career. Kenny informed us after the race that he is moving up from karts to modifieds, and the
competition better "LOOK OUT!!"
Thank you to all of the fans and racers who ran some laps with us and helped make us feel welcome
on our first visit to PIR. A very special thank you goes out to Bill and all of the staff at Paducah International Raceway
for allowing us to set up at your wonderful facility. We can't wait to come back and entertain your fans!
--MEMORABLE QUOTES FROM PADUCAH--

Foul weather does little to drown out excitement at Tim's Sims at Eldora
April 12, 2008
If you had trouble finding Tim in his usual spot, you weren't the only ones. Larry Boos graciously
offered up a spot under the main awning for us Friday so we could stay dry and warm.
While the threat of rain lingered throughout the day on Friday, it did little to stop our friends
and fans from seeking us out and running a few races with us. It was good seeing all of our Eldora Speedway friends
again, some for the first time since the end of the racing season, and others like the Topp's just seem to follow us everywhere.(Thanks
Guys!!!)
With a successful Friday under our belt and the new location working out nicely, we looked forward
to Saturday and another night of great WoO action at Tony's place, but Mother Nature decided we'll have to wait til a later
date, as the temperatures plummeted and the threat of rain and snow showers left Eldora officials no choice but to pull the
plug on the second night of the 2 day show.
A very heartfelt thank you to Larry Boos for allowing us to set up under the main awning. While
this may not be our permanent location at the "Big E", we may be setting up in different locations as logistics allow. So
if you don't see us in our normal location, look around for us, we may be trying somewhere new.
While nothing is scheduled for us this coming weekend, keep checking back here on the news page as
well as the 2008 Schedule for additions to our always growing plans.

April 6, 2008
Tim's Dirt Track Simulators appeared at Attica Raceway Park to help welcome the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions

season. Thanks to everyone for stopping by and racing, or even for swinging by just to say hello.
Tim's Sims next stop will be our inaugural visit to Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway in 2008 for the World of Outlaws first
visit to the Big E in 2008. Be sure to stop by and run a race or two as we help welcome "The Greatest Show on Dirt"
to the famed high banks of Eldora.
Josh Topp Tops Field at Piqua Spring Clash
March 31, 2008
Josh Topp proved that a long winter layoff didn't hurt his skills at all by showing up with no practice and setting 2nd
quick time in his 1st attempt on Saturday, during the "Fast Cars and Future Stars" Expo, held at the Miami Valley Centre Mall
this past weekend in Piqua. Topp then used the quick qualifiers race to knock off any rust left from winter, grabbing
one of 3 direct transfers to Sunday's 50 lap A Main, where he charged to the lead early and was never seriously challenged.
Runner-up Kyle Simon also made his way to the 50 lap "A" feature via the quick qualifiers race. He earned a spot
in the quick qualifiers race by virtue of his lap of 13.98 seconds around the venerable high banks of Tony Stewart's famed
Eldora Speedway, where he then finished in the top 3 to grab a transfer to the 'A', where his efforts garnered him the number
two finish.
Dave Sage filled out the podium, with Alex Penny, quick qualifier Ryan Sutter(13.87), and Chad Barr completing the top
six.
Matt Nickles Breaks Out his Broom"Stick" at the 3rd Annual Easter 50
|
Matt Nickles, 3rd Annual Easter 50 winner |
March 24, 2008
Matt Nickles made a clean sweep of events at Saturday night's Easter 50, setting quick time, winning his heats, winning
the dash, and then dominating the 50 lap A Main at the Hillbilly High Banks in Lima, OH
Tim Nickles kept it in the family, running second to his son. After nearly missing the transfer from his heat races,
Tim was able to take the runner up spot in the dash which gave him the outside front row starting position in the feature.
Marion, Ohio's Gerry Keysor finished 3rd with "The Rattlesnake" Ted Liette 4th, and Brandon Ferguson rounding out the
top 5.
Tim's Dirt Track Simulators make their next appearance in Piqua, Ohio this weekend, March 27-30 at the Miami Valley Centre
